CFM Cash for Kids have been so very kind in supporting us in these very challenging times.
We have received a pot of money which will be used to support many of our families during Lockdown.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to The Range in Carlisle who have being instrumental in providing the resources.
After the success of the CFM Cash 4 Kids I have decided to give back to the charity and doing a challenge of my own.
Me and Oscar are raising money as part of The 2.6 Challenge to support CFM Cash for Kids across Cumbria and South West Scotland so they can make a real difference to the lives of children and young people. Cash for Kids focuses on alleviating poverty, supporting disability and improving quality of life. Any amount you care to give is very much appreciated. After you sponsor me, it would be great if you could leave me a photo or video support message too!
Along with Oscar I will be doing all sorts of challenges including either 2.6 or 26. So far I have been doing jokes, bike rides, hanging from trees and the plank! I hope as well as raising money I am entertaining you all during these difficult times!
Thank you to all of those who have already donated, my target is £500!
For those who would like to see what we have been doing and donate the link is below.
The Great Newtown Bake Off
During school closure me and Miss Hodgson organised a virtual Bake Off. Pupils and parents sent us their entries via email and we had to make the tough decision and decide on a winner! In the end we chose Ronnie from the Jaguars as our winner. Well done to everyone who took part!
I have used Relax Kids in previous schools and thought I would introduce Magic Mel to Newtown as she is amazing and I knew the children would really benefit from her! Mel has been working with all of the children at Newtown for the past two academic years.
Relax Kids is one of the leading experts in child relaxation training, classes and resources.
They offer quality products and services to parents and professionals working with children.
They help children become resilient and give them tools and techniques to manage their emotional, and mental health.
Relax Kids uses research-based mindful and relaxation techniques alongside values and positive psychology (positivity, strength-building, gratitude, resilience and compassion) to help support children's emotional health and wellbeing.
Staff at Newtown have been trained in using Phunky Foods to deliver lessons on healthy eating. Phunky Foods have also been delivering an after school club for children. They also have some fab resources for home learning during COVID-19 on their website. Phunky Foods can also been accessed at home for you to get inspiration for meals and packed lunches.
