Learning in EYFS

At Newtown School we provide children with a range of experiences to support their learning at the start of their school journey. We aim to make learning fun and practical wherever possible. We have a range of topic's that we plan to use to engage the children but these do sometime change based on the children's needs and interests.

We use Tapestry to collate evidence of the children's learning in EYFS. We regularly share children's observations parents and we equally enjoy it when parents share learning that happens at home. Observations enable us to build a holistic picture of the learning that happens for individual and groups of children.

Children in Reception have a reading book and keywords. Some children have wordless books, these really support your child's story telling skills. Please read with your child for 10 minutes every day.
