Year 4 Curriculum Overview Spring 2023

Reading

We read every day and read with a teacher as many times as possible throughout the week. Reading should also be done at home at least three times a week and signed by an adult. We read our class book everyday in school and use VIPERS questions to help our comprehension.

Spellings and Times Tables

We use Spelling Shed to learn spellings and the spelling games can be accessed from home using the logins children have been given. As we re in Year 4, we have a

Homework

As well as practising for spelling and times tables and reading at home, we expect children to spend time on Maths Whizz (https://www.whizz.com/) Teachers can check how much has been done and also set challenges so make sure you take part! Homework books are also handed out on Tuesdays and are either maths or reading comprehension.

PE

We have PE on Monday and Tuesday. Please ensure PE kit is in for these days and that all kit and uniform is labelled.

If you have any questions or queries please get in touch. A member of staff greets the children in the morning and lets them out at the end of the day and you are welcome to have a quick chat then. For a longer discussion please just ask.
